Righteous Living

The Lord’s Honor is at Stake in Your Life

“But I say unto you, that you resist not evil; but whoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Matthew 5:39

It is time to understand that as a true believer in Yahusha our Messiah, we realize that His honor is at stake in our life, not our own honor.  We no long represent our self, we represent HIM.

In the natural if a man does not hit back, it is because he is a coward; but spiritually if a man does not hit back, it is a manifestation of the Son of Yahuah in him.

When we are insulted, cheated, lied about, swindled, put down, insulted, rejected or abandoned; we are not to resent it or retaliate. We are to make the situation an occasion to exhibit the Son of Yahuah God.

You cannot imitate the disposition of Yahusha; it is either there or it is not.

When personal insult comes it is the time to reflect the sweetness of Yahusha.

The teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is NOT to ‘Do your duty’, but to ‘Do what is NOT your duty.’ It is not your duty to go the second mile, to turn the other check but Yahusha says; ‘ if we are HIS disciples we will always do these things.’  A disciple will not say; “Oh, I cannot do these things any more, I have been so misrepresented, misunderstood and mistreated.”

Every time I insist on my own rights I hurt Yahusha, whereas if I take the blow I can prevent Yahusha from being hurt if I take the blow myself.

This is the meaning of filling up that which is behind of the afflictions of Messiah. A true disciple realizes that it is His Lord’s honor that is at stake in his life, not his own honor.

Never look for the right of another person, but never cease to be right yourself. We are always looking for justice; the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is;

Never look for justice, but never cease to give it.
