No Power in the Past Part 1

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Yahusha Messiah.” Philippians 1:6

No power in the past implies we need the renewing of our minds. When we spend more time thinking and speaking of our past experiences, can we live life to its fullest? No we can’t. Only memories of Yahusha and His work have remaining power. When Yahusha is expressed as part of our past we commemorate something of eternal value; for He was, and is, and is to come. Even in this we are required to ensure the focus not be on ourselves.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares Elohim, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11

A fresh testimony of Yahusha in is like serving a hot meal, it is nourishment to our souls. Elohim is gracious enough to give us memories of Himself. His memories continually encourage us to move forward. Memories of the soul bring stagnation, they offer no eternal value. His memories remind us of who He really is; the things He has done, things He can do, and will do again for us. This is the very threadwork of our eternal hope to see us through.

This message is not directed to our past testimonies involving Yahusha. Our check point here is evaluating the things we speak that have no eternal value. If what we are speaking or thinking has no eternal value, why are we doing it? For those living on memory lane, living off of past testimonies I challenge you to reactivate your life’s commitment to the Master. Self-confrontation must come in the form of a question. Do I have fresh and new manna ever day? Is my life bearing good fruit with new and current testimonies that bring Yahusha honor? If not we are going to address how you can overcome and pry loose of being the living dead.

Living in the laurels of yesterday brings death not life. Something that has past, is something former, it is lost and over with. If we allow our minds to remain in a state of memory, we commemorate the past. When we elevate the past over our present and future we have made our memory an idol.

Revelation 3:1,2 To the angel of the congregation in Sardis write: he who has the seven Spirits of Elohim and the seven stars, says this: I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. 2) Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die, for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My Elohim.

Scripture is clear that we can think we are alive, but are dead. The description here gives the solution to the problem; wake up, gravitate to the light. We are about to go through some of the most difficult times we have ever had to navigate through. We will need the mind of Messiah.

Yahshua is allowing creative tension to activate your faith and restore your vision. He is not looking at your current state; He is looking at your destined state which has to be enlarged to hold your future. Reach towards your calling instead of focusing on your past.

“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Yahusha Messiah” Philippians 3:13-14.
